Description
Copiapoa intricata is a doubtful species based on Echinocactus intricatus SalmDyck
(Echinocactus intricatus SalmDyck (Allg. Gartenz. 13: 387. 1845) is a homonym which no student has been able to identify. The original description is poorly characterized, the flowers, fruit and origin are unknown so that no one has been able to identify it certainly. To it the name Echinocactus criocerus Lemaire (Labouret, Monogr. Cact. 178. 1853) has been referred.)
