Madagascar, Tulear/Saint-Augustin region and on some high plateau inselbergs. Euphorbia alluaudii subsp. oncoclada has an extent of occurrence of 67,557.4 km² and an area of occupancy of 19,696.7 km². Recorded from 20 localities and comprises four to five subpopulations.
