Description
While the type of Lithops herrei shows a greenish tinge obscured by grey, light brown or pink shades, the cv. Splendido displays a lovely combination of ivory and lemon-green. Chalk and chlorophyll? The colour of the flowers is also different and much paler, almost white. Since the species is present mainly in two forms,“windowed” against “maculated”, it should be noted that ‘Splendido’ derives obviously from the latter.
Origin and Habitat
Garden origin (Nursery produced cultivar). Cultivars “splendido” appeared in the collection of Giuseppe M. Piccione, Italy.
